Cities with E-Scooter Guidelines

Electric Scooter (E-Scooter) is a novice mode of transportation, which starts to serve short-distance trips in recent years. However, at inital stages, safety-related data are unavailable for researchers. Therefore, our research team aims to fill the gap of following problems:

(1) Collecting news on E-Scooter-involved crashes, mining the news contents.
Safety of micro-mobility: Analysis of E-Scooter crashes by mining newsreports

(2) Summarizing political guidelines on E-Scooters from all cities with E-Scooter programs deployed in U.S..

(3) Comparing unique characteristics of E-Scooters with other modes such as taxis and bikes.

(4) DIY riding monitor system with IoT technology to collect safety-related data for E-Scooter riders.
